Bring your own clothes that need mending or just need some character. I’ll have needles, hoops, thread, and fabric. If you don’t know how to stitch, I’ll teach! This will be a mellow, create-whatever-you-can-imagine workshop.
MEND OR EMBELLISH YOUR WEARABLES—
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED //
ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED
Please fill out a Volta Waiver before coming to this workshop if you haven’t already done one.
For clothing: anything denim or canvas is great as long as it isn’t lined with another layer of fabric. Stretchier knits like sweatshirts and activewear work too, but the stretchier the fabric is, the more generally difficult embroidering on it can be. If your fabric is tricky, we can get you started on making a patch for it as an alternative to stitching directly on the fabric. For mending, we can tackle any size wear or tear that needs patching or reinforcing.
Feel free to reach out with any questions; I’m emmamarymurraystudio@gmail.
I’m so looking forward to stitching with you!
